Packing is one of the important parts to maintain the water resistance of a wristwatch. It seals the gap between parts such as the case and back cover to prevent water and dust from getting inside the watch.
The material is often made of rubber and set to seal the gap.
Rubber gaskets deteriorate in about 2 years.
The material, shape, and installation method vary from watch to watch, but we recommend replacing the gasket when replacing the battery because it is a consumable part and cannot be seen unless the back cover is opened.
*In the case of the original silicon packing, replacement is not available.

Even a seemingly clean watch can have dirt lurking in the back cover or in the crevices of the belt. Sebum, sweat, moisturizing cream, sunscreen, dust, etc... There are various types of dirt, but they are inevitable in daily use.
If left unattended, even inconspicuous dirt, such as in the crevices between parts, can accumulate and become noticeable and cause odor.
Ultrasonic cleaners are also used to clean dirt in the crevices of the belt and bezel that cannot be wiped away with a cloth.
Leather belts are cleaned of dust, etc., and a moisturizer is applied depending on the type of leather.

Overhaul is the process of disassembling a watch by parts, cleaning and oiling each part, and performing other necessary repairs, assembly, and a series of maintenance and repair of defective parts.
After many years of use, the movement (internal mechanism of the watch) is overloaded by oil deterioration, dirt, and other factors, and continued use in this state causes wear and tear on parts that are invisible to the eye.
The frequency of overhauls is generally 3 to 5 years for mechanical watches and 4 to 5 years for quartz watches.
However, since it depends on the condition of the watch, we recommend periodic inspection and maintenance.
